Again, forgive me, but that strikes me as rather naive. Mathematics is a lot more than a tool for science. Only a tiny fraction of math is applied. Microscopy, by contrast, is entirely applied or it makes no sense. And I never claimed that math is philosophy. (Though logic is. And logic has made progress in a sense similar to math, because they are related.)
