Check out the literature on cognitive behavioral therapy. Yes, you can even begin to feel attracted to someone you originally did not find interesting, though that's unlikely to be the most useful application.

Of course, we are not talking miracles. As I said, it requires effort and practice. But emotions have two components: the information signal you refer to (which we do not control) and a cognitive story we integrate with it (which we do control).
