That phrase is over-used, I’m afraid. Your entire existence is based on beliefs, including your perceptions.

Your brain is a virtual reality simulator that reconstructs the outside world. So, yes, when you toss a rock you “believe” you tossed it, and you “believe” it fell to the ground.

You seem to imply that belief is somehow a bad thing, but we are not talking about faith. Beliefs come in degrees, and the more evidence for it the more a belief is justified.

The best you can do when you disagree with people is to descend to the level of insults? I believe that’s not rational, or effective.
