Elliot,

we are not disagreeing on the Stoic take on evil. But general discussions of “the problem of evil” are not couched in Stoic terms. Even in Stoic terms, as I said before, their main argument for inferring a providential nature to the cosmos was the design argument. And that’s dead in the water, as far as I’m concerned.
