Hermes, the Stoics have argued that virtue provides meaning. I have written a whole book about this, and it is not difficult to find articles on the same topic. I’d be happy to provide links. There is also some empirical evidence from social psychological research backing up this point. (Note that “virtue” here just means a set of prosocial behaviors.)
