Hermes, the two fundamental pillars of evolutionary theory remain the ones identified by Darwin: mutation (he called it variation) and natural selection. The modern version of the theory does include other mechanisms, specifically recombination, migration, and genetic drift. Not directed mutation. The phenomena you describe are well documented, but directed mutation is something else, which has been proposed but has no empirical basis.
