I don’t think I ever denied that sex can be experienced in first person. If one has a brain. I also never said that only third person explanations exist. I did say those are the only ones that warrant the modified “scientific.”
My statement that it takes a brain to have conscious experiences is well supported by all we know about neuroscience and biology more generally. I can provide technical references if you are interested. Could the current science be wrong? Sure. Is there any reason to think it is? Not really. The burden of proof is on anyone who thinks the current science is off. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
Have scientists made mistakes in the past? Of course. Has any other approach in the past does better or even as well as science? No. So where does our best bet lie?
Upset? I didn’t get upset at all. How would you know that, anyway? Do you have an ability to sense my emotions at a distance?
Yes, your theology professors truly are laughable. But I ain’t one of ‘em.
Sea anemones have a nervous system, though not a complex brain. So they may experience something. Who knows. But you were talking about trees. No nervous system there, at all.
The fact that sea anemones capture preys is neither here nor there. Both some plants and fungi also capture preys, which doesn’t mean they have sensations.
