I’ve read Kurzweil. I think he is profoundly misguided. Consciousness is a biological phenomenon, and brains aren’t computers. There will be no uploading. Modern Stoics do not believe in teleology, where the universe as a goal of some sort, or a preferred direction. Biologists have long rejected the notion of evolution “destined” to do X or Y.
