Johnny,

> I make no assumption. I’m pointing out the simple observation that all experience (at least in my experience!) takes place NOW <

That’s not just an observation. There is no such thing as a straight observation. All observation depends on assumptions. In this case, your assumptions are mountains: that the scientific picture of the world is an illusion, that the world has intermitted, mind-dependent experience, and so on.

> How do you know others are paying attention when you’re asleep? <

Because they tell me.

> To experience any records is to experience them NOW. <

No kidding. But you are assuming that the record is, in effect, false. Why?

> How does one experience ‘then’? <

One doesn’t. One interprets data. Your position amounts to say that such data are illusory. Again, why?

> Whoa! Is that what science does, take the ‘simpler’ path of ‘assumptions’? <

Yes, other things being equal. It’s called Occam’s razor.

> And how is an empirically accurate view ‘narcissistic’? <

You are essentially assuming that the world exists only when you are looking. It doesn’t get any more narcissistic than that.

Cheers.
