Oguz, thanks for your extensive comment. I guess I’m not convinced. There is a profound disanalogy between art, music, and literature on the one hand, and science on the other.

The arts are limited by our imagination, science is limited by the structure of the universe, which is outside and independent of us.

And frankly, even in arts, music, and literature, yes, we can write an infinite number of novels and songs, but that’s analogous to a scientist studying variations of the same question. The issue is: can we come up with something completely new? At some point, not in the immediate future, the answer, I bet, is going to be no.
