Renato, yes, Epicureanism certainly encourages withdrawal from society, but not monasticism, because for Epicureans having friends is crucial to the good life.

That said, nothing stops someone from practicing Stoicism while at the same time being an introvert. You just find different ways to contribute to social and political life.
