Right, but as a biologist it strikes me as very strange that the disability of deafness is entirely socially constructed. Again, I say clearly in the article that there is a lot that society can and should do for disabled people. But not being able to hear, or to walk in the case of people with paralysis, is an objective disability no matter what the social conditions.
