Science is, and has always been, self-correcting. Meaning that there is a high premium on a scientist’s career to show other scientists wrong. Then there are philosophers of science, who keep an eye on science from the outside, often engaging in criticism of scientific activities. Is it a perfect system? Of course not. But nobody has come up with a better alternative.
