The Cartesian approach is not useless, as it nudges us toward an attitude of epistemic humility. But it doesn’t provide a basis to reconstruct knowledge, as Descartes had hoped.

Yes, especially in pragmatism, truth is linked to utility, though they can’t be the same, because some falsehoods can be useful.
