Yes, I don’t think we have a substantial disagreement here. And yes, the scientific method is built on basic elements of reasoning that are present, instinctively or explicitly, in other animals and in non-scientifically trained humans.

But difference of degrees can be so great that at some point they warrant separate terms and a different discussion.
